What do sommeliers think about Clairette de Die? If you ask them, they will undoubtedly tell you that it is a unique product with a strong personality. It is the only sparkling wine made from the muscat grape. It should be purchased and drunk young. In order to enjoy its fruity character to the full, it should really be drunk within two years.
Straight or in a cocktail?
After a long day at work, with meals shared with friends, or to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, crack open a bottle of Clairette. An indulgent wine to be drunk purely for the pleasure, it should be served at a temperature of between 6°C and 8°C. Keep it in the fridge and serve as an aperitif with canapés of foie gras, for example. For purists, adding any kind of cordial to Clairette to make a cocktail represents a real sacrifice… Drink it on its own, served in champagne flutes, or if you really can’t resist the temptation to make a cocktail, then why not open a bottle of Crémant or Clairette de Die Brut.
